Indoor school at the Cérisy hotel, Amiens (Somme).

Sectional drawing, watercolour and ink

An archival document (sectional drawing of the indoor school at the Cérisy hotel in Amiens) enables a study of another, older type of military indoor school. In the 18th century, solutions to troop housing were sought. The indoor schools complemented the buildings which were then required. This is the former barracks of the King's Gardes du Corps and only the main façade, decorated with military trophies, remains since 1940.
